The mission of Sanford Community Youth Alliance is to reduce and support unaccompanied youth in Sanford.

Our goals are to provide homeless youth safe shelter expeditiously, help students access services that can lead in a multitude of directions as well as a long-term goal of a youth center.

SCYA (Sanford Community Youth Alliance) started as a small group of concerned citizens of our area that learned and respected what Sue Austin has accomplished at Ryan’s Home in North Berwick. We wanted to come up with a system within our community where the teenagers that are homeless in our high school could be matched with a safe and stable place to live while allowing them to stay in our school system.

We are now excited to be accepting host families who are willing to open up their home for either short term or long term placement.  We have many necessary resources to help anyone involved.
